What are official copy documents?
Official copy documents are copies of records held by Land Registry. Common examples include Title Registers, Title Plans and available filed documents referred to in the title record.
When do you need official copies?
You may need official copy documents when checking ownership, reviewing legal title information, preparing for conveyancing, checking lease terms, or investigating rights and restrictions affecting a property.
What can official copies include?
Depending on availability, official copies can include the written title register, title plan and supporting filed documents such as transfers, leases or charges.
What official copies do not do
Official copies do not replace legal advice, surveying advice, planning searches or valuation reports. They show recorded title information where available.
Independent service note
This is an independent document-ordering service. You can also order official copies directly from HM Land Registry.
How to order
- Start a property search using the postcode or address.
- Select the matching property from the address results.
- Choose Official Copy Documents and any other documents you need.
- Enter your contact details and complete secure payment.
What you receive
Where available, the completed document is supplied digitally by email. You will receive an order reference after checkout so support can locate the order if you need help.
Before you order
Check the property address carefully before payment. Some documents are not available for every property, and title records do not replace legal, conveyancing or surveying advice.
