Title Register

What is a Title Register?

A Title Register is a property record that shows important legal information held against a registered title. It can include the title number, property description, registered owner details, tenure, price paid information where available, and certain rights, restrictions, charges or notices.

When do you need a Title Register?

You may need a Title Register when checking who owns a property, preparing for a purchase or sale, reviewing leasehold or freehold details, checking restrictions, or confirming information about a property you already own.

What is included?

A Title Register commonly includes the title number, tenure, property description, registered proprietor details, lender or charge information where recorded, and selected rights or restrictions affecting the title.

What is not included?

A Title Register does not usually show the exact legal boundary line, internal floor plans, survey results, planning history, or a full history of previous owners. Availability depends on the records held for the property.

How ordering works

Start with a postcode or address, select the property, choose the Title Register document, and complete secure card payment. Documents are supplied digitally by email after processing.

Independent service note

This website is an independent document-ordering service. It is not operated by HM Land Registry, GOV.UK or any government department.

How to order

  1. Start a property search using the postcode or address.
  2. Select the matching property from the address results.
  3. Choose Title Register and any other documents you need.
  4. Enter your contact details and complete secure payment.

What you receive

Where available, the completed document is supplied digitally by email. You will receive an order reference after checkout so support can locate the order if you need help.

Before you order

Check the property address carefully before payment. Some documents are not available for every property, and title records do not replace legal, conveyancing or surveying advice.

Frequently asked questions

Can I order a Title Register if I do not own the property?

Yes. Many title records are publicly available, so you do not normally need to own the property to request a Title Register.

Does a Title Register show the property owner?

It can show registered proprietor details where available from the Land Registry record for the property.

Is a Title Register the same as a Title Plan?

No. A Title Register contains written title information, while a Title Plan shows the general extent of the registered land.
